
Geo Baker Named Candidate for Senior CLASS Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's basketball senior Geo Baker was named one of 30 men's basketball candidates nationwide for this year's Senior CLASS Award.
The Derry, N.H. product currently ranks among the all-time Rutgers' leaders in assists (349, 8th), three-pointers (167, 8th), steals (135, 12th) and points (23rd, 1,186). For his career, he averages 11.2 points and 3.3 assists. Baker was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten team, the first Scarlet Knight to earn preseason all-conference accolades since 2004-05, and was on the Watch List for Bob Cousy Award (nation's top point guard).
A Human Resources Management major, Baker has received Big Ten All-Academic honors in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. Holding a GPA over a 3.0, Baker has helped the Rutgers team earn their first NABC Academic Excellence Award for the first time in eight years. He is also an active participant in community service initiatives at Rutgers and is a member of the Big Ten Anti-Hate and Anti-Racism Coalition.
The candidates will be narrowed to ten finalists in late February, and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system. The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2021 NCAA Men's Final Four this spring.
