Women’s distance team will travel to Indiana, rest of squad heads to Texas
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field will split the squad between the Indiana B1G Invitational on Friday, April 16 and Husker B1G Invitational on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17. The women's distance team will compete in Bloomington, Ind., while the remaining athletes will travel to the two-day Nebraska meet, hosted in Prairie View, Texas.
Rutgers will participate in the distance events at the Indiana B1G Invitational beginning at 6 p.m. All 13 Big Ten teams will compete at the Husker B1G Invitational with action getting underway at 10 a.m. on both days.
The Scarlet Knights are coming of an all-around standout showing at the Rutgers B1G Tri Meet hosted at the Bauer Track and Field Complex April 10. The group was led by three school-record performances on the women's squad, including Ka'Leila Abrille in the pole vault, Courteney Campbell in the high jump and Jasmine Van Note in the shot put.
Rutgers turned in several top times and distances, earning first place in 17 individual events in a meet that featured Big Ten opponents Maryland and Penn State. On the track, the men's team took victories in the 100-meter, 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and 800. The women's squad claimed victories in the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter.
The Scarlet Knights picked up additional wins in the men's long jump, pole vault, javelin, hammer throw and women's javelin.
