Women’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 16 in Latest IWLCA Coaches Poll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse moved up in several national polls on Monday, as it is ranked No. 16 in the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll. The Scarlet Knights are also ranked No. 17 by US Lacrosse Magazine and No 19 by Inside Lacrosse Magazine after they produced back-to-back victories over No. 11 Maryland and No. 13 Penn State over the weekend.
RU has now been ranked for the ninth consecutive week under second-year head coach Melissa Lehman, who has led the program to its most Big Ten Conference victories in a season since Rutgers joined in 2015. The Scarlet Knights defeated Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Penn State for the first time in program history during the 2021 campaign, and also notched a pair of wins over then-No. 19 Ohio State back in February.
All seven Big Ten teams are ranked in the latest coaches poll, which includes No. 2 Northwestern, No. 14 Maryland, No. 15 Johns Hopkins, No. 16 Rutgers, No. 18 Penn State, No. 22 Ohio State and No. 23 Michigan.
