
Adam Charalambides and Colin Kirst Named All-Americans by Media

Duo recognized by Inside Lacrosse and US Lacrosse Magazine among nation's best
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse had two student-athletes named All-Americans in the media voting compiled by Inside Lacrosse. Attackman Adam Charalambides and goalkeeper Colin Kirst were named Honorable Mention All-Americans. The duo was also recognized as All-Americans by US Lacrosse Magazine.
Charalambides leads the team with 40 goals and 57 points. His 3.33 goals per game ranks sixth nationally, and he is 14th nationally at 4.75 points per game. A First Team All-Big Ten selection this season, he was previously named a Scholar All-American last season. The Georgetown, Ontario native has 11 multi-goal games this season to notch the third 40-goal season of his career. After posting three goals in last weekend's NCAA Tournament win over Lehigh, Charalambides now has 145 career goals, which ranks him second all-time in Scarlet Knights history. His 197 career points are the sixth most all-time at RU.
Kirst has excelled this season between the pipes for the Scarlet Knights. The Bernardsville, N.J. native has posted a 56.6 save percentage and 10.73 goals-against average. The First Team All-Big Ten selection and Big Ten Specialist of the Year has made 163 saves, an average of 13.58 per game. Kirst has recorded double-digit saves in 11 of the 12 contests, most recently posted 17 saves to backstop RU to a 12-5 victory over Lehigh in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. He ranks in the top-12 nationally in save percentage and saves per game.
These two selections increase RU's all-time All-American count to 218. The full list of All-Americans from the USILA will be announced at a later date.
The Scarlet Knights have posted a 9-3 record overall following a win over No. 10 Lehigh on Saturday, the team's fifth ranked win of the season. Rutgers is one of the final eight teams remaining in the NCAA Tournament, and will play No. 1 seed North Carolina on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Stuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University.
