
Men's Lacrosse Has Six Scholar All-Americans

Adam Charalambides, Jaryd Jean-Felix, Ryan Gallagher, Connor Kirst, Zach Masessa and Kieran Mullins Recognized
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse had a record six student-athletes named Scholar All-Americans. Adam Charalambides, Ryan Gallagher, Jaryd Jean-Felix, Connor Kirst, Zach Masessa and Kieran Mullins all earned the accolade.
Charalambides is now a three-time Scholar All-American. The graduate student has been a six-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. On the field this season, he was an All-American, First Team All-Big Ten and USILA Senior All-Star Game selection.
Gallagher, a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award this season and was named to the USILA Senior All-Star Game.
Jean-Felix had a breakthrough season to become a All-American and All-Big Ten selection. The defenseman from Cumming, Ga. was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Kirst became an All-American in his lone season as a Scarlet Knight. He was a Third Team All-American and First Team All-Big Ten selection.
Masessa excelled for RU as a long-stick midfielder. The Montgomery, N.J. native was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was named to the Senior All-Star game.
Mullins earns Scholar All-American honors for the second time. The Big Ten Medal of Honor and Wayne Duke Award winner was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten and three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar recipient.
With these selections, Rutgers now has 26 Scholar All-Americans in program history, including 22 recognized in the past seven years. Last season, Kieran Mullins and Adam Charalambides were recognized. They joined five 2019 honorees: Adam Charalambides, Mark Christiano, Max Edelmann, Garrett Michaeli and Kyle Pless along with Christian Mazzone and Michael Rexrode (2018), Connor Murphy (2017), Scott Bieda and Zack Sikora (2016), Joe Nardella and Campbell Sode (2015), Will Mangan (2012), Brian Shemesh (2011), Jamie Lovejoy (2005) and Jeff Duca (2003).
The USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III.
