PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 25
Rutgers women's soccer kicked off 2021 with a 6-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday evening at Yurcak Field. Nine different Scarlet Knights contributed to scoring in the win.
Seniors
Frankie Tagliaferri and
Amirah Ali, who were both announced to the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, led the offense for Rutgers. Tagliaferri notched a goal and two assists, while Ali added in a goal and an assist. Sophomore
Sara Brocious joined in with a goal and an assist of her own.
Sophomores
Sam Kroeger and
Emily Sapienza, and freshman
Riley Tiernan each added goals, while sophomore
Allison Lowrey, freshman
Kylie Daigle, and senior
Gabby Provenzano contributed assists for RU.
In net,
Meagan McClelland made a big stop to secure the first shutout of the season, as RU held FDU to just two shots on goal overall.
Next up, Rutgers continues a six-game homestand, hosting Temple on Sunday, August 22 for a 7 p.m. match.
