
Tennis Set to Begin Brown Invitational on Friday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers tennis is set to begin its fall season at the Brown University Invite on Friday, September 17 hosted at Providence, Rhode Island. This event goes through the weekend, ending on Sunday, September 19.
RU enters the tournament after coming off a promising 2020-21 season, posting the most Big Ten victories in a single season. The Scarlet Knights picked up two wins over Maryland, a win over Michigan State, and Indiana.
"We are all very excited about this event," says head coach Hilary Ritchie. "It is the first Fall tournament for most of our team since having to cancel competitions Fall 2020. The group of teams participating is strong and will provide us with valuable opportunities to kick off the season."
The Scarlet Knights will have five returning players, including seniors Kristiana Zahare, Sydney Kaplan, and Tess Fisher, and sophomores Chloe Brown, Alisa Prinyarux, and Daira Cardenas. RU also welcomes two freshman, Minchae Kim and Jackeline Lopez, as well as transfer, Arista Sierbrits.
The fall schedule for Rutgers consists of five tournaments, including the Brown Invitational, ITA Regionals, UNC Charlotte Invitational, ITA Super Regionals, and the Big Green Invitational.
