Guillermina Causarano Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Third Different Big Ten Freshman of the Week this season for Field Hockey
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers field hockey freshman Guillermina Causarano was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday. Causarano is the third different RU freshmen to earn the weekly accolade this season through four weeks, joining Lucy Bannatyne and Iris Langejans.
Causarano was a member of the starting lineup in helping Rutgers to a pair of two ranked wins, defeating No. 20 Monmouth (3-2) and No. 22 Delaware (2-0). The native of Salta, Argentina scored her first career goal against Monmouth, which was the game-winning goal to decide that one-goal contest.
"To score my first goal, I was very happy," said Causarano after the Monmouth game. "I decided to come here in May and it's been awesome. I feel like I am home. These girls are my family and I feel so welcomed and happy to be here."
A product of Colegio San Pablo, Causarano has started five games overall in helping RU get off to a 6-1 record. That mark includes five wins over ranked teams and saw the team rise to No. 10 in the previous week's rankings themselves.
