Women’s Basketball Unveils 2021-22 Schedule

Scarlet Knights open the season at home against St. Peter’s on Nov. 9

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's basketball has released its 2021-22 non-conference and Big Ten schedule. Times and television designations will be announced in the coming weeks.
 
The Scarlet Knights begin the campaign at home against St. Peter's on Tuesday, Nov. 9 inside the RAC, where Rutgers is 49-8 over the past four seasons for an .860 winning percentage. Hall of Fame head coach C. Vivian Stringer has lined up 12 non-conference games before the 18-game Big Ten slate.

RU plays its first five contests at home in November against St. Peter's (Tues., Nov. 9), South Alabama (Fri., Nov. 12), Fairfield (Sun., Nov. 14), Stony Brook (Tues., Nov. 16), and Harvard (Fri., Nov. 19).
 
Rutgers will then hit the road for the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands for three games against DePaul (Thurs., Nov. 25), Vanderbilt (Fri., Nov. 26), and Arizona (Sat., Nov. 27). The Scarlet Knights return stateside for a Wed., Dec. 1 trip to Pittsburgh for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
 
Non-conference action wraps up in December with three more home games against Delaware State on Sunday the 12th, Central Connecticut State on Tuesday the 14th, and Wagner on Saturday the 18th.
 
The Big Ten announced Rutgers' conference opponents in June and today declared the dates live on Big Ten Network. Rutgers tips off conference play at the RAC against defending Big Ten Tournament champion and NCAA Sweet 16 participant Maryland on Sun., Dec. 5. Additional Big Ten home games include Indiana (Thurs., Dec. 30), Minnesota (Thurs., Jan. 6), Wisconsin (Sun., Jan. 16), Ohio State (Sun., Jan. 23), Michigan State (Sun., Jan. 30), Penn State (Sun., Feb. 13), Purdue (Sun., Feb. 20), and Iowa (Thurs., Jan. 24).
 
Rutgers' nine B1G road games are at Penn State (Thurs., Dec. 9), Purdue (Sun., Jan. 2), Michigan (Sun., Jan. 9), Nebraska (Thurs., Jan. 20), Maryland (Thurs., Jan. 27), Ohio State (Mon., Feb. 7), Northwestern (Thurs., Feb. 10), Minnesota (Thurs., Feb. 17), and the regular season finale at Illinois on Sun., Feb. 27.
 
The 29th Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament will be held Wed., March 2 through Sun., March 6 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
The Scarlet Knights, who finished third in the Big Ten in two of the last three seasons, will aim to qualify for its third consecutive NCAA Tournament for the first time since Coach Stringer's squad went dancing in 10 consecutive seasons from 2003 through 2012. March Madness 2022 begins with first round games on Fri. and Sat., March 18 and 19 at the homes of the top-16 seeds.
