Iris Langejans Named a Third Team All-American

Field Hockey Student-Athlete Earns Recognition from NFHCA
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers field hockey's Iris Lanejans was named a Third Team All-American. The announcement came Tuesday from the NFHCA.
Langejans excelled in her second season 'On the Banks'. The native of Almelo in The Netherlands was also named a First Team All-Big Ten and First Team All-Region selection. She was also a NFHCA Collegiate Watch List member and Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch this season, validating those selections with her play. She was also recognized for her academic achievement as a member of the Fall Academic All-Big Ten list.
Langejans was the team's leader this season in points, she notched career-bests with four goals and eight assists for 16 points, including two game-winning goals. Following the game-winning goal in the team's 2-1 win over No. 3 Northwestern, she was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and NFHCA National Defensive Player of the Week. Overall, Langejans was first on the squad in points and assists and second in goals.
With Langejans contributions, RU captured eight wins overall, including three Big Ten wins. The Scarlet Knights collected five ranked wins during the 2022 season
