Swimming & Diving Sets Two New School Records On Day Two Of Hawkeye Challenge

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Rutgers women's swimming and diving set two new school records on day two of the Hawkeye Challenge on Friday.
Rutgers women's swimming and diving wraps up action at the Hawkeye Challenge on Saturday competing in the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform and 400 free relay. Prelims start at 11 a.m. (ET) with finals beginning at 6 p.m. (ET). Both sessions will be streamed on Big Ten Network Plus.

| FROM THE POOL DECK |
- The 200 medley relay team swam to a new benchmark for the second time this season, while Rachel Kimmel added her second Rutgers record of the day and now holds the top time in the 100 breast.
- In addition to the 200 medley relay and 100 breast victories, the Scarlet Knights also captured wins in the 200 free from Sofia Chichiakina and 100 back by Alice Scarabelli.
- On the boards, four Scarlet Knights made their way to 3M finals with Holly Prasanto finishing second and moving up to seventh on the all-time scores list.
| RELAYS |
- The evening finals session kicked off with the 200 medley relay squad resetting the Rutgers school record for a second time this season in their victory. Alice Scarabelli, Rachel Kimmel, Sofia (Lobova) Maksimova and Sofia Chichaikina finished in 1:38.95 taking .37 seconds off from their previous record set against Princeton in the annual Battle for the Cannon Trophy meet.
| SPRINTS |
- After helping the 200 medley record to a new school record, Rachel Kimmel then bested the Rutgers record in the 100 breast. She hit the wall in 1:00.65 topping the previous mark of 1:00.82 by Rachel Stoddard in 2016. Kimmel also swam in the 400 IM finals posting a season-best 4:24.53 for sixth place.
- Alice Scarabelli qualified for A finals in the 100 back hitting the wall in 53.04 for the fourth-best time in the Rutgers record book. She took first in the finals clocking in at 53.31.
- Sofia Chichaikina was the top finisher in the 200 free for a season-best 1:47.37.
- Also racing in A finals on Friday were Tina Celik in the 100 breast, Sofia (Makismova) in the 100 fly and Madison Murtagh in the 200 free.
| DIVING |
- All four Scarlet Knights entries on 3M qualified for finals with Holly Prasanto landing in second place with the seventh-best score in Rutgers history. The sophomore totaled 324.80 besting her previous PR of 316.95 captured against Purdue.
- Additionally, Sephora Ford and Jenna Douglass picked up NCAA Zone qualifying marks.
