SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Rutgers track and field added three of the team's five school records on Saturday to close out the weekend at the Meyo Invitational. The Scarlet Knights also collected a pair of event wins in the men's long jump and women's 60-meter hurdles and totaled 22 personal records.
On the men's side, the 60-meter dash record was broken, while the women's squad established new marks in the distance medley relay, pole vault, 3,000-meter and shot put.
"This team is learning and getting better each and every week," said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country
Bobby Farrell. "Some huge performances coming in every event group. I'm very proud of our progress across the board. We have plenty of work to do ahead of us, but we'll get there. This is a process and we're getting stronger every week, physically, mentally and technically."
Alex Carlson added the third school record of her career as she earned the top time in the 3,000-meter, running 9:15.40 to place 6th in the event.
