PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Brian Cameron became the newest product of Rutgers men's lacrosse tabbed by a professional lacrosse club over the weekend. On Saturday, the Toronto Rock selected Cameron in the second round of the 2022 Entry Draft, using the 36th overall selection on him.
Cameron is set to enter his second season on RU's roster this year. The Bedford, N.H. native started 18 games on attack last spring in his debut campaign 'On the Banks', posting 34 goals and 10 assists, placing him fourth on team in goals and fifth in points. He also had 19 ground balls and two caused turnovers.
While leading RU to the teams first Final Four appearance in program history, Cameron had 11 multi-goal games overall. The Bishop Guertin product scored five goals in three NCAA Tournament games, with a hat trick in the team's First Round victory over Harvard and then a team-high two goals in the Final Four against Cornell.
Three Rutgers men's lacrosse alumns recently completed the 2021-22 season in the indoor pro lacrosse league, the NLL. Joe Nardella (Albany Firewolves), Connor Kirst (Georgia Swarm) and Adam Charalambides (Vancouver Warriors) all had successful seasons in the NLL.
Kirst was selected in the expansion draft by the Las Vegas franchise. Brad Apgar (Georgia Swarm) and Ronan Jacoby (Panther City) were both selected in the 2021 NLL Draft as well, with their rights held by those teams.
