SPARKS, Md. - This weekend, the U.S. Men's National Team and Team Canada will compete the
USA Lacrosse Fall Classic taking place Oct. 13-15 at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. Five players with Rutgers connections will compete for national teams this weekend.
Colin Kirst, Connor Kirst and
Ethan Rall will play for Team USA.
Ross Scott and Adam Charalambides will compete for Team Canada.
The three-day event features the U.S. and Canadian men's senior teams and women's U20 teams, reigning NCAA women's champion Northwestern, Penn State men's lacrosse, the USA Select U16 and U18 boys' and girls' teams and high school-aged teams from the Haudenosaunee Nation and Ontario. The U.S. plays Canada on Friday night and both teams play Penn State on Saturday. Live streaming will be available on Youtube. The USA - Canada game Friday night is at 7:30 p.m.
Colin Kirst just finished an season with the PLL's Cannons that saw him earn his first career PLL All-Star game nod. A two-time All-American and two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection at RU, Kirst was one of the Finalists for the league's Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Connor Kirst, an All-American and First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2021 at RU, just completed his third seasons with the PLL's Whipsnakes in 2023. After playing together in the 2021 Elite Eight season at RU, he is set to play alongside his brother again in this event.
Ethan Rall recently had a breakout 2023 PLL season, earning all-pro honors as a rookie and was named a Finalist for Rookie of the Year and Long-Stick Midfielder, holding the PLL season record for caused turnovers. Rall excelled on the field for the Scarlet Knights, where he was a three-time All-American (twice being named to the First Team) and three-time all-Big Ten selection.
Ross Scott is set for his final year "On the Banks" this season. He also played for Team Canada
at U-21 World Championships in Limerick, Ireland.The two-time All-Big Ten and two-time All-American has scored 89 goals with 48 assists in 52 games at RU.
Adam Charalambides, a 2021 All-American and two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection, was a recent addition to the Team Canada roster. He scored 149 career goals at RU (second all-time) and has had an active pro career both with the Cannons and in the NLL with the Vancouver Warriors.
