2024 Rutgers Roster
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Fall practices are underway for Rutgers men's lacrosse as the Scarlet Knights bring a reloaded roster and excitement towards a new season. The Scarlet Knights have one fall game scheduled for the end of this month, as the team will host Brown. In addition, RU will compete in a series of traveling scrimmages, bringing the Rutgers lacrosse brand to locations around the tri-state area. These three Scarlet versus White intersquad matchups will allow the public to watch the team in areas outside of the Rutgers campus and are also paired with alumni events for networking and engagement with the team.
The Scarlet Knights got their first opportunity to compete, mixed with some team bonding, on the weekend of September 24th. The team played its first Scarlet-White game, traveling to the Albany area for the weekend and competing on the campus of Union College.
The team has two more Scarlet-White scrimmages set for this fall. The Scarlet Knights will travel to local locations to compete and engage with program alumni.
In addition, Rutgers will take on one outside opponent, hosting Brown for a scrimmage on Sunday, October 29 at 11 a.m at the F3 Field. The Scarlet Knights will conclude its fall slate by hosting the Ivy League squad, who RU last met in game action with a home-and-home series in 2017 and 2018, with the Scarlet Knights winning both games.
Next up will be a Scarlet-White game, as Rutgers will take a day trip down the shore to play at Rumson-Fair Haven High School in Rumson, N.J. On Saturday, October 7, the game will start at 10 a.m. Rutgers will also travel to Long Island for a Scarlet-White Game. On Saturday, October 21 Rutgers takes a trip to Farmingdale State College to play at 4 p.m. Both of these Scarlet-White Games will be followed by events for alumni in these areas to meet with the members of the current roster.
The Scarlet Knights will also compete in their annual fall alumni game on Homecoming Weekend. The current squad will compete against a collection of former RU players at 1 pm on Sunday, October 15 following the team banquet.
The Scarlet Knights approach the 2024 spring campaign looking to continue a successful streak for the program. Over the past three full seasons since returning from the shortened 2020 campaign, RU is 32-14. In that time, the Scarlet Knights claimed 13 ranked wins. RU has 36 ranked wins since 2003, and 26 of them have come since 2012 under head coach Brian Brecht.
