Scarlet Knights Return to Jersey Mike's Arena for Noon Game
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's basketball is back at Jersey Mike's Arena on Sunday, as the Scarlet Knights will host Bryant. The game tips off at 12 p.m., streaming on B1G+ with Dom Savino and Dominique Patrick on the call.
ABOUT RUTGERS
Rutgers faced BU on Friday night in the home opener and earned a 69-45 victory. The team was led by freshman Gavin Griffiths, who posted 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting. It was the most points for a RU player in the home opener since 2013. He was joined in double-figures by Aundre Hyatt, who scored 17. The RU defense held the Terriers to 45 points on 26.9 shooting, the 10th time in the last two seasons holding opponents to 50 points or fewer in a game. It was the third time holding an opponent under 30% shooting in the past two seasons and the lowest field goal percentage against since last season against Rider on November 22.
Derek Simpson had a career-high five assists. Antwone Woolfolk led RU in rebounding for the first time in his career with eight boards, the second most in his career.

Bryant has opened up the season with a 1-1 record. The Bulldogs opened up with a 61-59 loss to Manhattan. The team then posted a 140-79 win in game two over NIAI foe Fisher College. Sherif Gross-Bullock led the team in scoring in both games and averages 17.1 points per game. Earl Timberlake paces the squad with 8.4 rebounds per game. Phil Martelli Jr. currently serves as Bryant's acting head coach.
SERIES HISTORY
Rutgers holds a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series. The Scarlet Knights have home wins in 2008 (67-37), 2017 (83-54) and 2019 (73-71). The last meeting came in the season opener of the 2019-20 campaign. In the 2017 meeting, freshman Geo Baker posted 29 points to lead RU.

Rutgers is 57-14 at Jersey Mike's Arena since the start of the 2019 season. The Scarlet Knights are 36-10 under Steve Pikiell in the month of November.
Cliff Omoruyi is currently at 678 rebounds, two behind Kevin Black for 15th all-time at Rutgers. He can also pass Hamady Ndiaye (14th, 681) and JR Inman (13th, 688) in the near future. Omoruyi also has 132 career blocks and is six blocks behind Myles Johnson for 8th all-time at Rutgers.
