Katherine McFetridge Joins Rowing Coaching Staff

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Rutgers rowing head coach Justin Price announced the hiring of Katherine McFetridge as an assistant coach with the Scarlet Knights.

A New Jersey native, McFetridge competed with USRowing in the single and double sculls from 2012 through 2015, finishing first in the 2015 Pan American Games Team Trials, earning a silver medal in the 2015 Pan American Games, and competing in a pair of USRowing Club National Championships, winning gold medals in the single sculls discipline in 2012 and in doubles in 2013, adding a silver in singles in 2013.

"I'm thrilled and grateful to have been given the opportunity to join such an incredible team," McFetridge said. "I'm proud to be a Scarlet Knight and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish this year."

McFetridge was a captain on the University of Southern California women's rowing team from 2007-11, leading the Trojans to top-10 team finishes at the NCAA Championships in 2010 and 2011.

Following her collegiate career, McFetridge worked as a personal trainer and health coach while pursuing a spot on Team USA. She also has been working as a boating specialist since 2016, founding and leading her own company, Janette Boatworks, from 2021-23.

McFetridge graduated from USC with a degree in health promotion and disease prevention. Born in Washington Township, New Jersey, she is a graduate of West Deptford High School, where she was the school valedictorian and was an All-Conference player in both basketball and field hockey.
