Day Two Results

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Day two of the Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Canham Nataorium saw Rutgers land another relay team on the podium with a school record, a diver flip and twist her way to the 1-meter consolation finals and three individuals reach the B & C Finals.

RELAYS

The 400 medley relay squad finished in seventh with a school-record time of 3:35.17. The team of Valeria Egorova, Rachel Kimmel, Martyna Piesko and Sofia (Lobova) Maksimova shaved 1.20 seconds off the previous record of 3:36.37 set at last year's Big Ten Championships. It was the fourth time the 400 medley relay has reached the Big Ten podium and its highest finish since 2015.
Additionally, Egorova's leadoff time of 52.86 is the fourth-fastest 100 back time in the Rutgers record book.

SPRINTS

Madison Murtagh swam a pair of PRs in the 500 free. She captured a time of 4:44.46 in the morning prelims to qualify for the B final and then bested her time by .24 seconds. Murtagh placed third in the B final and 11^th overall.
Two Scarlet Knights qualified for evening finals in the 50 free. Sofia (Lobova) Maksimova raced in the evening's B final as the third competitor to hit the wall in the heat and place 11^th overall. She clocked in with a season-best 22.26. Sofia Chichaikina, meanwhile, was in the event's C final finishing in 23.07.

DIVING

On the boards, Savana Trueb advanced to the consolation finals where she posted a score of 268.85 to finish seventh in the consolation round and 15^th overall

UP NEXT

Friday's action begins with prelims at 10 a.m. in the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 3-meter dive.
Finals get started at 5 p.m. and includes the 200 free relay.
Both sessions will streamed on BTN +.
