PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 16 Rutgers rowing won five races at the Ivy League Invitational on Lake Carnegie on Saturday and Sunday. The Scarlet Knights won all five races during Sunday's racing, including four in the third and final session.
 
RU won its first of five Sunday races in the morning as the Novice 8 closed the session with a victory over No. 10 UPenn in a thrilling race with a 1.1-second winning margin.

The Scarlet Knights then won four of its eight races in the final session, led off by the Varsity 8's 2.3-second victory over No. 18 Oregon State. The Varsity 4 also beat out Oregon State, winning their heat with open water ahead of the Beavers and Cornell. The 2nd Varsity 4 and 3rd Varsity 4A finished first and second ahead of Columbia. Finally, the Novice 8 won their second race of the day, again beating out No. 10 UPenn in a tight race separated by 2.8 seconds.
 
The Scarlet Knights, returning to the CRCA Poll this week at No. 16 in the nation, were one of seven teams in the 10-team field with a CRCA national ranking in the poll heading into the weekend. Rutgers raced against No. 6 Brown, Cornell, No. 18 Oregon State, No. 10 UPenn, No. 17 USC, and No. 9 Virginia. 

Rutgers returns to action after an off week to race in the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Massachusetts on Lake Quinsigamond on Sun., April 30.
