WORCESTER, Mass. – No. 18 Rutgers rowing sent all eight of its boats to the grand finals at the Women's Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond Sunday while earning a pair of medals. The 3rd Varsity 4A claimed a victory over six other boats, including No. 5 Brown, No. 10 Syracuse, and No. 15 Harvard, while the Varsity 8 placed third in their grand final.
 
The Scarlet Knights won two heats in the morning, with the Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 outpacing No. 15 Harvard in their races. The Varsity 4, 2nd Varsity 4, and Novice 8 (racing with the 3rd Varsity 8's) all placed second in heat racing to book their trips to the grand finals in the afternoon. The top two boats from each heat advanced to the grand final at the Eastern Sprints.

The 3rd Varsity 4A, beginning their day in the grand final, finished with more than 12 seconds of open water ahead of Michigan State and nearly 15 seconds in front of No. 5 Brown.

After their heat win, the Varsity 8 took third for a bronze medal in the grand final.
