Olivia Bodmer posted her second shutout of the season with seven saves

PRINCETON, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer (2-1-2) battled Princeton (2-0-1) in a scoreless draw on Thursday evening at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium. Rutgers redshirt freshman goalkeeper Olivia Bodmer made a career-high seven saves in her second shutout of the season.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED

The Scarlet Knights nearly broke the match-long deadlock in the final three minutes. In the 88th, Riley Tiernan's shot was saved with a dive by Princeton's Tyler McCamey, and the rebound was placed on target by Allison Lowrey, only to be saved off the line by a Tiger defender. After a few bounces, Lowrey got another attempt and fired just inches wide of the left post.
With the final seconds ticking away, Tiernan skillfully dribbled toward the Princeton endline and played a rolling cross right across the goalmouth, just an agonizing foot away from a streaking Sam Kroeger, who was barely tardy for a dramatic game-winner.
Bodmer was active in the first half, making five saves during the opening 45 minutes and breaking up a few other Princeton chances with heads-up control of the 18-yard box and the surrounding area.

STAT SHEET

Princeton led in shots, 17-10, with a 7-5 edge in shots on goal.
Becci Fluchel took two shots on target, followed by one apiece from Lowrey, Emma Misal, and Tiernan.
Midfielder Sara Brocious went the distance, playing the full 90 minutes in the stalemate.

KNIGHT NOTES

Olivia Bodmer records career shutout No. 2.
Rutgers moves to 18-9-5 against Princeton, including a 10-4-4 mark in Princeton. The two sides' last scoreless draw against one other came in 2019 in Princeton after two overtimes.
