PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's swimming team hosts its first dual meet of the season welcoming Purdue for Big Ten action on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Rutgers Aquatics Center at Sonny Werblin. The meet begins at 4 p.m. and admission is free.

LAST TIME IN THE WATER

Rutgers opened the season on the road two weeks ago at No. 24 Miami with SMU and at Lynn University.
Against the nationally-ranked Hurricanes and Mustangs, RU picked up 10 top three finishes, a pair of top 10 performances and four NCAA zone scores in diving. Sophomore Sofia Bartoloni captured the top time in the 200 breast dropping 4.67 seconds off her previous best to capture the eighth fastest time in RU history in 2:15.10. Freshman Bailee Sturgill made her Scarlet Knights debut on the boards as the runner-up on 3M with the 10^th highest score "On The Banks" and NCAA Zone score with a 319.05. Sturgill also picked up an NCAA Zone score on 1M as well. Also earning NCAA Zone scores were senior Holly Prasanto as runner-up on 1M and freshman Katerina Hoffman on 3M. Sophomore Elysha Pribadi totaled four top-three performances with runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200 breast and a third-place time in the 200 IM and with the 200 medley relay. Classmate Blanka Berecz was also a runner-up in the 200 fly.
In a victory at Lynn, the Scarlet Knights earned 23 top three finishes including individual event victories in the 500 and 100 free, 100 and 200 breast and 100 and 200 fly along with the top time in the 400 medley relay. Berecz and Bartoloni earned three wins on the morning. Both were members of the winning 400 medley relay squad with Berecz hitting the wall in first in the 500 free and 200 fly and Bartoloni sweeping breaststroke events. Also bringing home first place finishes were Grace Weaver in the 1000 free and Ellie Schinsky in the 100 fly.

RUTGERS TOP 10

Rutgers has two top 10 times/scores on the season. Sophomore Sofia Bartoloni moved into eighth all-time in the 200 breast (2:15.10) against No. 24 Miami and SMU. Also at the same meet, freshman Bailee Sturgill made her debut diving into 10th all-time on 3M with a score of 319.05.

B1G TIMES/SCORES

Sophomore Elysha Pribadi, who was a three-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree and Big Ten B Finalist in both the 100 and 200 breast, is currently eighth in the 100 breast (1:01.80).

LAST YEAR IN THE WATER

Rutgers finished 32nd at the NCAA Championships as Holly Prasanto earned second team all-america honors reaching the consolation final on 1M to place 11th overall. She became the fifth Scarlet Knight diver to earn all-america honors and marked the third-straight season Rutgers has sent a diver to the NCAA Championships.
At the Big Ten Championships, eight NCAA B cuts were registered, 18 top 24 finishes were recorded, 13 program top 10 times were captured and 28 personal bests were set.
The 400 medley relay squad consisting returning Scarlet Knights Martyna Piesko and Jade Smits had the highest-ever finish for a Scarlet Knight relay squad at the championships with a fifth-place finish and new school record.

RSMART

The Scarlet Knights earned the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) team award with a 3.59 spring GPA , marking the 21st consecutive semester. RU has been honored with one of the nation's top grade-point averages. RU's GPA was also the fourth highest among Big Ten women's swimming and diving programs, ahead of Ohio State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Purdue.
Eight Scarlet Knights were honored as CSCAA Second Team Scholar Americans for achieving a 3.5 grade point average or higher while collecting NCAA B cuts or advancing to NCAA Zone diving competition including returnees Sephora Ford, Shannon Meadway, Martyna Piesko, Elysha Pribadi, Amelia Scott and Molly Urkiel.
Last season, Rutgers women's swimming and diving posted 14 Big Ten All-Academic honorees and five Big Ten Distinguished Scholars.

Rutgers women's swimming and diving hosts Princeton in the annual Battle For the Cannon Trophy on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Rutgers Aquatics Center. Admission is free.
