SARASOTA, Fla. – No. 13 Rutgers rowing competed in 21 races at the Big Ten Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Nathan Benderson Park. The Scarlet Knights' 2nd Novice 8 boat swept its races on Friday for Rutgers' two event victories at the event that featured 13 teams ranked or receiving votes in the most current CRCA national poll.

Rutgers' 2N8 won its morning race on Friday in a photo finish over No. 9 Michigan by a 0.365-second margin. Later, they topped three boats from the Big Ten with 10 seconds of open water, crossing before No. 12 Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

RU combined for six second-place finishes on Friday, including the 3rd Varsity 4 twice. The Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4, and 2nd Varsity 4 all were second out of five, only losing to No. 6 Brown.

The V8 finished third in its morning race, just eight-tenths of a second behind No. 9 Michigan for second.

On Saturday, the V8, 3V4, and 2N8 all took second out of four to wrap up the weekend in Florida. The V8, V4, 2V4, 3V4, and 2N8 all finished ahead of No. 16 Indiana - with the 3V4 also outpacing No. 9 Michigan.
