May 09 | Men's Lacrosse
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Shane Knobloch was named a First Team All-American as USA Lacrosse Magazine unveiled its list of the top players in Division I men's lacrosse on Thursday. The publication tabbed the RU midfielder among the top three players in the nation at his position.
Knobloch's placement on the First Team marked his highest career All-American accolade received. He has been named an All-American by at least one publication in each of his years 'On the Banks', previously being named as high as a Second Team All-American by the USILA last season. Knobloch is just the second four-time All-American in program history, joining Tom Sweeney, who earned All-American honors each year from 1977 to 1980.
Knobloch played in 60 games as a Scarlet Knight, where the midfielder scored 98 goals and added 49 assists for 147 points. The Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2021, he was subsequently an All-American in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The Moorestown, N.J. native was a three-time All-Big Ten selection, twice making the third team. He was drafted with the fourth overall selection in Tuesday's PLL Draft by the Carolina Chaos, the highest drafted pro player in RU history.
The All-Americans listing from USA Lacrosse Magazine will also be followed by All-American lists from the Media/Inside Lacrosse voting and the USILA All-Americans.
