Kurdyla, Zeller Named to Team USA U-20 National Team Training Squad

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse rising sophomore midfielders Colin Kurdyla and Colin Zeller were named to the training squad for the Team USA Men's U20 National Team. The 2025 U.S. Men's U20 National Team will represent the United States at the world championship next summer in Seogwipo, South Korea from July 18-27, 2025.
The team began its on-field activities with a three-day tryout on June 28-30 at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. Kurdyla was one of 77 players identified for the tryout, and his performance during the tryout allowed him to make the cut to the 42-man initial squad. Zeller later joined him during a training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters from Aug. 19-21. The team will have additional training camps leading up to the world championship in Korea .
Kurdyla recently completed a standout season during his freshman campaign 'On the Banks'. The Bridgewater, N.J. native scored 20 goals and had 10 assists for 30 points, tying for second on the team in goals and third on the team in assists and points. Kurdyla had six multi-goal games, including three hat trick. He was a two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week and ranked 17 on the end-of-season Inside Lacrosse True Freshman rankings.
Zeller played in six games at a freshman, seeing action at short-stick midfield. The Haverford, Pa. native and Haverford School product had six ground balls and three caused turnovers in his time in action before his season was shortened due to an injury following the March 10 game against Princeton.
The last time that the U-20 World Championships were held, Shane Knobloch represented the Scarlet Knights on the squad. Knobloch won a gold medal at the event in Limerick, Ireland after scoring seven goals in the tournament.
