Scarlet Knights set sights on international waters for 50th Anniversary Celebration
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Feb. 23, 2025) – Rutgers women's rowing is calling on alumni, fans, and supporters to help propel the Scarlet Knights to one of the most prestigious rowing events in the world - the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England. As the program celebrates its 50th anniversary, this historic opportunity will showcase Rutgers' legacy of excellence on an international stage.
With a generous 2-to-1 matching challenge in place, the program aims to raise $50,000, unlocking an additional $100,000 in support. These funds will cover critical expenses, including travel, accommodations, boat rental, race entry fees, and logistics, ensuring the Scarlet Knights can compete at the highest level.
How to Support
The campaign is already off to a strong start, thanks to an initial $5,000 gift and company match from a dedicated member of the Rutgers rowing family. Now, the Scarlet Knights invite all supporters to step up and help push them toward their goal.
Ways to get involved include:
- Donate – Contribute directly to the Henley Royal Regatta Fund.
- Find a Match – Many companies offer donation-matching programs. Check to see if yours will double your impact.
- Share – Spread the word to fellow alumni, friends, and family who believe in the past, present, and future of Rutgers women's rowing.
50 Years of Excellence
Beyond fundraising, the 50th anniversary campaign is a celebration of the program's rich history and bright future. Scarlet Knights past and present will come together for a special Kick-Off Event on Saturday, March 15, featuring:
- Open Scrimmage – 10:00 AM at the Rutgers Class of 1914 Boathouse
(5 Memorial Pkwy, New Brunswick, NJ). - Kick-Off Social – 2:00–4:00 PM at the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center
(201 Fitch Rd, Piscataway, NJ).
