Larmour Wraps Play at EuroHockey Championship

RU Alumn Earns Five Caps with Team Ireland

Mönchengladbach, Germany - Rutgers field hockey alumn Katie Larmour represented the Scarlet Knights on the world stage over the past two weeks, completing action playing for Team Ireland at the prestigious EuroHockey Championships against some of the top teams in the world. Larmour earned five caps playing for Team Ireland, who finished in eighth place in the event. Larmour now posts six career caps, after previously making her first career appearance for the national team earlier this summer in a matchup against Team USA.

Larmour appeared in every game of the tournament, seeing action for the squad off the bench in each contest. Larmour was a key contributor for the squad, who earned a scoreless tie against ultimate runner-up and host Germany, and surrendered just three goals across pool play in a pool that included the two teams that played for the championship (World No. 1 Netherlands and host Germany).

"I am so incredibly proud of Katie," Rutgers head coach Meredith Civico said. "She has been such an integral part of the Rutgers Field Hockey program's journey. A three-year captain, she led us to the University's first Big Ten Tournament championship in 2021. She is a wonderful leader and a fantastic person."

Larmour played at Rutgers from 2016 to 2021. Over that time, she was a fixture in the team's midfield, playing in 86 games (83 of them starts) and scoring 17 goals with 18 assists for 52 points, including six game-winning goals. She ranks in the top-15 in program history in both assists and points.

Larmour was Rutgers' Headley-Singer Award winner in 2022. She was a two-time All-American, reaching First Team in 2021, a four-time All-Region selection (three times on the First Team) and a three-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. In 2019, she was a member of the Big Ten All-Tournament team, and in 2021, she was a key piece in leading RU to the Big Ten Tournament championship. She was also a First Team All-ECAC selection, multi-time Werblin Award winner and a team captain.

Academically, she was a three-time Distinguished Scholar, three-time Academic All-Big Ten, a NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete and Scholar of Distinction, and winner of the Athletic Director's Excellence Award in 2021.
