PRINCETON, N.J. — Rutgers tennis fell at Princeton in its season opener, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon.
The Scarlet Knights won the doubles point before the Tigers won four singles matches to clinch the win.
Doubles
RU took the first doubles point of the season. The pair of Karina Jumazhanova and Naomi Karki first recorded a big 6-2 win on the second court.
Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska sealed the deal with a 7-6 victory on court No. 1 to give RU a 1-0 lead going into singles.
Singles
Frankowska was the lone Scarlet Knight to come out on top in singles play, defeating Isabella Chhiv on the second court in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5.
