DUBLIN, Ireland – Rutgers field hockey alumn will continue her international field hockey journey with Team Ireland. The former Scarlet Knight was selected for the squad for the Australia stage of FIH Pro League, which takes place on February 10-15. Team Ireland will play at the Tasmania Hockey Centre, taking on the host Australians, as well as Argentina, who is ranked second nationally.
Larmour was initially selected to play with Team Ireland last summer, earning her first international caps as Ireland travelled to the United States to take on Team USA in a pair of contests held in Charlotte last June. The Belfast native also competed with the Irish squad last August in Germany at the EuroHockey Championship in Mönchengladbach, earning five caps there. She also was on the squad for the FIH Pro League held in Dublin last December, as the Irish made their FIH Hockey Pro League debut at home, welcoming Belgium and England in four matches.
"We are keen to continue testing ourselves against the world's best sides," said the team's head coach, Gareth Grundie. "This competition gives us that opportunity. I think we performed very well in our debut stage in Dublin with four close encounters with Belgium and England. We are challenging ourselves to replicate this in Hobart when we face Argentina and Australia."
Larmour played at Rutgers from 2016 to 2021. Over that time, she was a fixture in the team's midfield, playing in 86 games (83 of them starts) and scoring 17 goals with 18 assists for 52 points, including six game-winning goals. She ranks in the top-15 in program history in both assists and points.
Larmour was Rutgers' Headley-Singer Award winner in 2022. She was a two-time All-American, reaching First Team in 2021, a four-time All-Region selection (three times on the First Team) and a three-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. In 2019, she was a member of the Big Ten All-Tournament team, and in 2021, she was a key piece in leading RU to the Big Ten Tournament championship. She was also a First Team All-ECAC selection, multi-time Werblin Award winner and a team captain.
Academically, she was a three-time Distinguished Scholar, three-time Academic All-Big Ten, a NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete and Scholar of Distinction, and winner of the Athletic Director's Excellence Award in 2021.
