
Three Men’s Lacrosse Alumns Win PLL Champ Series Title

Shane Knobloch Recognized with Golden Stick Award
ST. JAMES, Virginia - Three Rutgers men's lacrosse alumni earned a trophy in professional lacrosse action over the weekend. Competing in the week-long Premier Lacrosse Championship Series, RU products Shane Knobloch, Ross Scott and Christian Scarpello excelled for the Carolina Chaos to lead them to the title.
Knobloch was superb throughout the Tournament, winning the Golden Stick Award for recording the most points in the event. Knobloch had 24 goals along with six two-point goals and four assists, totaling 34 points across five games. His nine points in the final was the most ever points recorded in a Champ Series final and he had the second most scoring points ever in a Champ Series tournament.
Scott had a strong tournament on the offensive end as well. Scott scored 13 goals and had five assists for 18 points across the five games.
Scarpello saw his first action with the Chaos in the Sixes format after signing with the club, previously playing with the Waterdogs. Scarpello had two goals, an assist, and five ground balls.
RU product Michael Rexrode saw action with the Atlas, who played in three games overall, winning just one prior to elimination. Rexrode had two goals on two shots, three caused turnovers and three ground balls across three games.
The next PLL action comes on March 21, where the PLL sends an all-star team, featuring Knobloch, Scott and fellow RU alumn, Colin Kirst to Japan.
