Redshirt sophomore …Has the potential to make a significant defensive impact due to his length, athleticism and shot blocking ability…Has a nice touch around the basket and the ability to score with both hands.
2016-17: Played in 18 games totalling 32 rebounds and 11 blocks... had three points, four rebounds and a block in win over Nebraska (Jan. 21) ... played 17 minutes at Wisconsin (Dec. 27) with two points, one steal and one block ... saw 18 minutes of action at Seton Hall (Dec. 27) with four rebounds, three blocks and two points ... had four rebounds and three steals in opener vs. Molloy (Nov. 11)
2015-16: Played in 14 games, averaging 15.6 minutes, 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds ... suffered broken foot in practice prior to game versus Monmouth (Dec. 20) and returned from injury against Northwestern (Feb. 27) ... had six points, six rebounds and three blocks at George Washington (Dec. 12) ... totalled four points, three rebounds in 12 minutes versus Creighton (Nov. 23) ... led team with six rebounds against Clemson (Nov. 25) ... collected five rebounds in 14 minutes at St. John’s (Nov. 19) ... scored nine points with four rebounds in collegiate debut in victory in season opener (Nov. 13).
2014-15: Practiced with the team, but did not compete in games after being ruled a partial qualifier by the NCAA.
Scholastic: A 2014 graduate of Quality Education Academy in Winston Salem, N.C…Averaged 13.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks as a senior team captain to help the Pharaohs to a 21-5 record…Rated as the ninth-best prospect in the state of North Carolina and the nation’s 27th overall center by ESPN…Competed on the AAU circuit for Team Loaded Virginia…Was cited as a three-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com…Also had reported scholarships offers from Oklahoma, Georgia, Marquette, Massachusetts and Old Dominion.
Personal: Son of Mamadou Diallo and Aissatou Diallo…Major is Human Resource Management…Is one of three big men from Dakar, Senegal to arrive in Piscataway in recent years, joining former team captain Hamady Ndiaye (2006-10), who set a school record with 358 blocks and was named the 2009-10 Big East Defensive Player of the Year and current forward Issa Thiam.
