Hayn joins the Scarlet Knights as a graduate student following a three-season career at Hartwick College. He is the son of Rutgers' men's basketball Chief of Staff Steve Hayn.

- Played three seasons at Division III Hartwick College (2019-20, 2021-22, 2022-23), where he saw action in 39 games with one start
- Played 403 minutes overall, scoring 64 points on 33.3% shooting and added 47 rebounds, 28 assists and 14 steals
- Received Phillip S. Wilder, Jr. Award for academic distinction three times and was named to the Empire 8 2021 President's List three times

- Attended Xaverian High School
- Played two seasons of varsity basketball for the Clippers and was a team captain. The team finished with a NYS ranking of #10
- Hayn also played two years for KING Hoops
- Is the son of Stephen Hayn and Gina Strazzabosco. His father, Steve, scored over 1,000 points as a basketball player at Stony Brook, and is now on staff at Rutgers
