Janie Pierson joined Rutgers Athletics as the Coordinator of Olympic Sports Operations in February of 2020. She works with Rutgers’ field hockey, softball and cross country/track & field programs.
In this position, Pierson works closely with the coaching staffs to assist with team operations such as travel, meals, expenses, events, recruiting, paperwork and more.
Pierson came to Rutgers after spending 2017-2019 at Marist College. Initially starting their as a marketing and ticketing coordinator, she was promoted to athletic business manager following seven months in that role. At Marist, she prepared/oversaw annual budgets for 23 Division I teams, 14 sport clubs, and intramural programs, while scheduling and managing hotel reservations, ground transportation, flights, per diem requests and all other travel arrangements for 12 varsity teams
Pierson also spent one season at Villanova University as an athletic marketing assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Communications from Marist in 2016 and earned a Master of Arts degree in 2019.
