Michaela Pillion joined the Rutgers Sports Medicine staff in 2022 as an assistant athletic trainer, working with the women's rowing team.
Pillion, a Hollis, N.H. native, recently completed a Masters of Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training from Indiana University. While at Indiana, she spent two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, and primarily worked with the Indiana Women's Rowing team, while also providing outreach services at local high schools. Furthermore, she participated in conducting a 2-year research study at the university that looked at "The Effects of Sleep Quantity on Vestibular/Ocular-Motor (VOMS) Concussion Screening Tool."
Prior to her graduate degree, Pillion attended the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. During her time with the Hawkeyes, she worked with a multitude of university sports programs including the nationally-ranked football, wrestling, field hockey, and rowing teams.
Pillion is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Graston M1 Technique trained clinician, member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and an American Heart Association BLS certified provider.
