Caldwell, Lloyd Named to All-District Women's Soccer Team

In addition, Lloyd was named one of the 12 finalists for Soccerbuzz's National Player of the Year Award and was singled out as the South Jersey Coaches Association College Player of the Year. Lloyd is the first Scarlet Knight woman to win the award, following in the footsteps of former RU men's soccer standouts Steve Rammel (1990), Bill Andracki (1991), Jon Rath (1998), and Dennis Ludwig (1999 and 2000)
Lloyd, the 2002 Preseason BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and a two-time first-team all-BIG EAST selection, led the Scarlet Knights with 31 points (12 goals, seven assists) this season. Following her freshman campaign, the midfielder was named an All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), Soccerbuzz and Collegesoccer.com. Lloyd also was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and the Soccerbuzz Mid-Atlantic Region Freshman of the Year after collecting 37 points (15 goals, seven assists) in 2001. She also is one of the 15 female finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, which recognizes the Division I player of the year.
Caldwell, a goalkeeper, posted a 1.41 goals-against average and a .740 save percentage with six shutouts for the Scarlet Knights this fall. She ended her career fourth in shutouts (16), minutes played (5077) and saves (233), sixth in goals-against average (1.44) and eighth in save percentage (.742) on the RU record charts.
This marks the eighth consecutive year and the 11th year overall that a Scarlet Knight has earned NSCAA all-region honors. Last season, both Lloyd and senior Keri Lages were first-team selections.
Rutgers finished the 2002 season with a 10-8-2 overall record and a 3-2-1 mark in the BIG EAST's Mid-Atlantic Division, advancing to the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.
