BRONX, N.Y. (February 15, 2014) - Seniors Ekene Ugboaja (Edison, N.J.), Tylia Gillon (New Egypt, N.J.) and Asha Ruth (Bowie, Md.), along with freshman Nicole Nicholas (Jersey City, N.J.), helped Rutgers captured the Eastern College Women's 4x400 relay title at the 2014 running of the Millrose Games on Saturday at the NYC Armory.
The Scarlet Knights, who also won the title in 2012, ran to a time of 3:43.04, an ECAC qualifying mark.
It was RU's second best time in the event this indoor season.
"The Millrose Games is one of oldest and most prestigious track and field meets in the world and to have the opportunity to be invited to compete at the Millrose Games is an enormous honor," said head coach James Robinson. "The ladies did a great job of repeating as college champions and representing Rutgers University."
The Rutgers women's indoor track and field team will head to the American Athletic Conference Championships being held on Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, Mar. 1 at the NYC Armory.
