PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers field hockey has two crucial games this weekend against Big Ten foes. The Scarlet Knights (7-5, 1-3 Big Ten) will host Michigan State (5-8, 1-3) on Friday for the 'White Out'. They then travel to Columbus for a Sunday matchup at Ohio State (5-8, 0-4).

RU split a pair of games last weekend, falling 3-1 Friday against No. 10 Michigan. Rachel Yaney scored Rutgers' lone goal in that game. On Sunday, RU claimed its first overtime victory of the season. Alyssa Bull scored the game-winning goal, off a perfect feed from Yaney, to give the home team a 1-0 victory.

Rutgers continues to have balanced scoring, with six players in double digit points. Nikki Santore leads the team with 18, followed by Linde van Schaik (16), Devon Freshnock (15), Rachel Yaney (13), Alyssa Bull (11) and Katie Larmour (10). Santore and van Schaik share the team lead with seven goals, while Bull and Sofia Walia pace the squad with five assists apiece.

MSU enters the weekend at 5-8, and has dropped seven of its past eight games after starting 4-1. The one win in that span came over Ohio State. The Spartans are led offensively by Kendal Anderson (10 goals, seven assists, 27 points) and Megan Fenton (10 goals, two assists, 22 points). The Spartans hold a 7-3-1 lead in the all-time series. Rutgers' last win came in 1989, although both games as conference foes have been decided by one goal, including a 5-4 double overtime game last season.

Ohio State enters the weekend at 5-8, having won two of its past three games. They also face No. 6 Maryland on Friday. If Ohio State loses both games this weekend, they cannot finish higher than Rutgers in the standings in case of a head-to-head tie.

The Scarlet Knights lead the all-time series against OSU 3-2. The Buckeyes claimed a 3-0 win last season in Columbus, avenging a 3-2 Rutgers victory in 2014. OSU is led offensively by Maddy Humphrey (10 goals, six assists) and returns Liz Tamburro (.689 save percentage, 2.53 goals-against-average in goal.
