PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers women's lacrosse fell to No. 1/1 Maryland, 18-3, Saturday night at High Point Solutions Stadium. Sophomore goalkeeper Bianca Dente (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) made a career-high 14 saves in the defeat.
Junior midfielder Kristina Dunphey (Hillsborough, N.J.) led Rutgers with two goals on four shots. Junior attacker Amanda Turturro (Farmingdale, N.Y.) added a goal, scoring the Scarlet Knights first of the game in the opening half.
Maryland's Megan Whittle led all scorers with four goals, while Caroline Steele and Zoe Stukenberg notched hat tricks. Taylor Cummings scored two goals and tallied an assist.
Rutgers continues Big Ten Conference play on Sunday, April 17 at No. 13/19 Northwestern. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST.
