
Softball Adds Three to 2019 Roster

Montana Feathers, Corah Price and Aleah Marra join the Scarlet Knights
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Aug. 23, 2018) – Rutgers softball head coach Kristen Butler has announced three additions to the 2019 roster.
The trio of Montana Feathers, Corah Price and Aleah Marra join Po Russ and Katie Wingert as the newcomers to the Scarlet Knights, who open their fall schedule on Sept. 29.

NOTES: Guided Altoona Area High School to its first winning seasons in 2016 and 2017 … Named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 … Played club ball with Winning Edge Athletics … Plans to major in public health … A member of the Air Force Reserves.
"Playing Division I softball is something I've dreamed of for a long time," Feathers said. "The coaching staff made me feel welcome and instilled confidence in choosing this program."
Butler on Feathers: "Montana will add depth to our catching contingent. She comes from a great, athletic family and puts intense focus on physical fitness and conditioning."

NOTES: Played high school ball in Colorado with Discovery Canyon Campus, ranked No. 4 in the state at the end of 2017-18 … Named 2018 Colorado High School Athletic Association All-State First Team and Pikes Peak Athletic Conference Player of the Year … Added All-State Honorable Mention and Pikes Peak Athletic Conference First Team Pitcher of the Year in 2017 … Finished high school career with 43 wins and 423 career strikeouts in 386 innings … Four-year President's Award for Educational Excellence and graduated Summa Cum Laude … Played club ball for Triple Crown Stars 18 Gold … Plans to major in business … Father, Christian, is an active member of the United State Air Force.
"I chose Rutgers because of the raw passionate hearts of the coaching staff," Price said. "The coaches exemplified a community-like atmosphere that would nurture and empower players to rise to their optimal level of abilities. As soon as I saw this, I wanted to become a part of it and make my mark as a Scarlet Knight; to work, to leave a positive impact on the program and build it to something it has never been before."
Butler on Price: "Corah is a very good pitcher that will bring a lot to our staff. She is a very hard worker and will bring an already impressive resume to our team.

NOTES: A three-time District Champion with Anchor Bay High School in Michigan … Four-time All-District, four-time All-County and two-time All-Region selection … Named 2018 Conference MVP, County Player of the Year, All-State and Michigan High School Sports Player of the Year … Holds single-season school records for hits, doubles, runs, home runs, and batting average, while also registering career school records for hits, doubles, runs and batting average … Plans to major in engineering … A member of the National Honor Society.
"Rutgers has a great reputation as an academic institute, and is one of the highest rated public universities in the country," Marra said. "Rutgers also competes in the Big Ten and it has always been my dream living in the Midwest to play softball at that level."
Butler on Marra: "Aleah is a very quick middle infielder. She is a strong hitter from the left side and will make an immediate impact to our lineup."
