Scarlet Knights will attempt to disrupt the Hoosiers' 34-match undefeated streak at Bill Armstrong Stadium
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Oct. 24, 2019) – Rutgers men's soccer continues its four-match road stint at No. 10 Indiana, the 2018 Big Ten Tournament champions and 2018 NCAA College Cup semifinalists, on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
| RUTGERS QUICK KICKS |
- Northwestern denied the Scarlet Knights' quest to put together back-to-back Big Ten wins by defeating Rutgers, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Martin Stadium on the banks of Lake Michigan.
- Against the Badgers in their last Big Ten matchup, Rutgers exploded for three second half goals. Senior captain Jake Longo put away the game-winning on his first career goal while insurance goals came off the feet of sophomore Pablo Ávila and classmate Brandon Wall within a three-minute span late in the game.
- Last Tuesday night, the Scarlet Knights found themselves down 2-0 two minutes into the second half before Ávila scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 50th minute and freshman Jackson Temple tied the match in the 67th minute.
- Sophomore Pablo Ávila, along with Liam Butts and Aaron Molloy (Penn State), is tied for second in the Big Ten with six goals with Michigan's Nebojsa Popovic topping the list with seven tallies.
- Ávila is third in total points (14) behind Ohio State's Jack Holland (15) and Michigan's Popovic (17).
- Ávila and freshman Jackson Temple along with David Kovacic (Maryland), Bardia Kimiavi (Northwestern), Devyn Etling (Ohio State) and Joshua Penn (Indiana) each have two game-winning goals in 2019 and are tied for second in the Big Ten in the category. PSU's Butts tops the list with four game-winners.
- In goal, freshman Oren Asher is fourth in save percentage (.721) and third in saves (44), while leading the conference with Ohio State's Parker Siegfried with three clean sheets on the season..

- No. 10 Indiana welcomes the Scarlet Knights at 9-2-3 overall and 4-1-0 in the Big Ten and are looking to bounce back from its first Big Ten loss of the year, a 3-0 setback at No. 25 Maryland last Friday.
- The Hoosiers are undefeated in the team's last 34 matches at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium, posting a mark of 30-0-4.
- The Hoosiers enter the match off an offensive explosion against in-state foe Evansville on Tuesday night. Indiana received goals from five different players in a 5-1, dominating victory over the Aces.
- Indiana is ranked No. 10 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches poll. IU is ranked No. 8 in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer and No. 12 by College Soccer News.

- The road team has seen the bulk of the success in this series, winning seven of the 12 matches. IU is 2-2-1 in Bloomington against Rutgers.
