Men's Soccer Takes Unbeaten Non-Conference Record to Lehigh

Scarlet Knights look to finish non-conference play undefeated for the first time since 1983
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2019) – Rutgers' four-game road stint concludes at Lehigh on Tuesday, Oct. 29, which will also wrap up non-conference play for the 2019 season. The tilt kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.

- The Scarlet Knights have a chance at securing its first undefeated non-conference slate since 1983. At 6-0-2 this fall outside the Big Ten, Rutgers has the best winning percentage (.875) in school history as it stands. The 1983 team went undefeated in non-conference play before falling in the NCAA Tournament.
- Rutgers dropped a Big Ten match at No. 10 Indiana (10-2-3, 5-1-0) by a score of 3-0 on Friday night in front of 2,105 fans at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium, where the Hoosiers extended their home undefeated streak to 35 with a record of 31-0-4.
- Rutgers rookies Jørgen Wisth Lie and Jackson Temple are ranked No. 40 and No. 97, respectively, in the midseason Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 Freshmen list. They are two of four freshmen that have started all 15 games for the Scarlet Knights this season, joining back Hugo Le Guennec and goalkeeper Oren Asher.
- • Sophomore Pablo Ávila is ranked third in the Big Ten with six goals with Michigan's Nebojsa Popovic and Penn State's Aaron Molloy topping the list with eight tallies.
- Ávila is third in total points (14) behind Penn State's Molloy and Michigan's Popovic (19).
- Ávila and freshman Jackson Temple along with David Kovacic (Maryland), Bardia Kimiavi (Northwestern), Devyn Etling (Ohio State) and Joshua Penn (Indiana) each have two game-winning goals in 2019 and are tied for second in the Big Ten in the category. PSU's Butts tops the list with five game-winners.
- In goal, freshman Oren Asher is third in saves (49), while leading the conference with Ohio State's Parker Siegfried with three clean sheets on the season.
| SCOUTING LEHIGH |
- Lehigh is unbeaten at 5-0-2 in Patriot League play with two contests remaining before the conference's postseason tournament. The Mountain Hawks are 9-4-2 coming off a scoreless draw against rival Lafayette.
- LU defeated No. 22 Navy, 2-0, on the road on Oct. 19 for its only ranked victory of the season. Josh Luchini scored his 10th goal of the season as the game-winner in the 68th minute, and Trevor Koski picked up his third of the year as insurance in the 82nd.
- Goalkeeper Will Smith has a 0.76 goals-against average in 14 starts with a .823 save percentage and seven shutouts. His save percentage ranks ninth in the nation, his shutouts rank 10th and the GAA ranks 17th.
- Leading scorer Josh Luchini has four game-winning goals in 2019, which is tops in the Patriot League and 12th in the nation.

- The 41-match all-time series is tied at 19-19-3.
- The first match was played in 1940. The two sides haven't met since 2010, a 3-0 victory for Lehigh.
