Oct 31 | Women's Soccer
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Following a Big Ten regular season runner-up finish, No. 16 Rutgers women's soccer saw six Scarlet Knights receive All-Big Ten laurels, the league announced Thursday.
Junior forwards Amirah Ali (First Team) and Nneka Moneme (Second Team), sophomore goalkeeper Meagan McClelland (Second Team), senior defenders Amanda Visco (Second Team) and Chantelle Swaby (Third Team), and senior midfielder Taylor Aylmer (Third Team) were named All-Big Ten.

Ali, a three-time All-Big Ten recipient, earned her second straight First Team recognition by the league. The 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy candidate posted nine goals and four assists on the season, including four game winners. Three of Ali's game winners came in overtime, as she is the program-leader with eight career golden goals. The All-American and two time all-region forward owns 62 career points 25g, 12a), ranking eight on the Rutgers career records list.

Moneme led the team this season with 11 goals and six game winners en route to Second Team All-Big Ten status. The Union, New Jersey, native scored four straight game winners, including two golden goals, to close out the regular season for the Scarlet Knights. Moneme recorded two multi-goal games this year including a hat trick victory against Fordham and a two-goal performance in the win over then-No. 16 Michigan. The back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week to end the regular season, picks up her first All-Big Ten honor.

Visco anchored a defense that posted 11 shutouts and a 0.58 GAA on the year to garner Second Team honors. The captain led the back line in holding opponents to three shots or less on goal in 10 matches, including holing three Big Ten teams to just six shots or less overall in the game. The Manalapan, New Jersey, native also netted two goals, one of which was the game winner in the victory at Iowa. It marks the second All-Big Ten accolade of her career, having been named to the All-Freshman Team her rookie year.

McClelland, the 2018 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, registered 11 shutouts and a 0.59 GAA in 18 starts to capture Second Team accolades. The Kearny, New Jersey, native stopped 59 of 70 shots on goal, notching a save percentage of 0.843. Her 11 shutouts are tied for fourth on the Rutgers single-season charts. McClelland owns 19 career clean sheets across her first two seasons as a Scarlet Knight. McClelland ranks third in the nation in shutouts and 24th in GAA. The goalkeepers' Second Team recognition comes after earning Third Team All-Big Ten and All-Freshman Team honors a year ago.

Aylmer, a two-time captain of the program, registered a team-high nine assists on the year, claiming Third Team honors. The Garnerville, New York, native assisted numerous game winners on the season, including the 1-0 OT win against Indiana, the winner in the 1-0 decision at Iowa and the 3-2 win at then-No. 16 Michigan. Her efforts helped RU match its most regular season wins and conference victories in program history. The honor is her second All-Big Ten recognition after earning All-Freshman accolades in 2016. Alymer was also named the Sportsmanship Award honoree for Rutgers.

Swaby, who came off a summer with the Jamaican Women's National Team's historic World Cup roster, picked up her third consecutive All-Big Ten recognition with Third Team accolades. The West Hartford, Connecticut, native anchored the back line with Visco, while also adding in two assists. One of her assists came on the golden goal in the 1-0 OT win against Purdue. Swaby helped guide the defense to a national ranking of 21st in GAA and 20th in save percentage. Swaby is a three-time All-Big Ten honoree.
Rutgers earned the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament for the second straight season. The Scarlet Knights host the seventh-seeded Indiana Hoosiers on Sunday, Nov. 3 for a 12 p.m. ET match at Yurcak Field.
