Women’s Lacrosse Closes Regular Season Saturday at RV Penn State

Scarlet Knights play host Nittany Lions at 11 a.m. on BTN
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse (5-10, 0-5) closes out the regular season on Saturday when it plays RV Penn State (7-8, 2-3) at Panzer Stadium in University Park. The game will broadcast live on BTN at 11 a.m.
Last Time Out
The Scarlet Knights fell to Ohio State, 11-7, last Saturday at HighPoint.com Stadium. RU outshot OSU, 26-25, scooped up 20 ground balls to the visitor's 14 and caused 15 Buckeye turnovers in the loss.
With her three-point outing (2a, 1g) last weekend, sophomore Taralyn Naslonski has 60 points this season, the most for a Scarlet Knight since Brooke Cantwell had 61 in 2010. She needs four points in the regular season finale to tie for fifth with Marilyn Reilly (1984) for points in a single season.
Scouting Penn State
Receiving votes in the IWLCA Coaches' Poll, Penn State enters Saturday's game after it dropped a 16-11 contest to No. 16 Stony Brook on Tuesday in University Park. In a game that featured two lightning delays, Sophia Triandafils matched a career high with four goals and two assists.
• Quinn Nicolai leads the team in goals (30) and co-leads in points (38) with Maria Auth, while Triandafils is the leading on the team in assists with 17. Taylor Suplee is the goalie of record with 139 saves, a 12.32 GAA and a .463 save percentage in 15 games this season.
Naslonski within the B1G
Naslonski has been one of the most productive offensive threats in the conference this season. The Randolph High School product is tied for third in assists-per-game (1.40), fourth in points-per-game (4.00) and is tied for sixth with 2.60 goals-per-game.
Youth Movement
The majority if RU's offensive production has come from underclassman this season. Freshman, sophomores and juniors have accounted for 86 percent (61/71) of the team's assists, 82 percent (190/231) of the team's points and 81 percent (129/160) of the team's goals in 2019.
