IOWA CITY, IOWA – Rutgers men's track and field concluded its weekend at the 2019 Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Sunday at the University of Iowa. Across the three-day event, the Scarlet Knights registered nine podium finishes and claimed two medals.

MEDALISTS
On Friday, graduate student
Chris Mirabelli registered a throw of 71.83m (235' 8") in the javelin to claim his third Big Ten title in the event. The Lumberton, New Jersey, native claimed the title in 2016 and 2017 before shoulder surgery and a heart condition sidelined him for the 2018 campaign.

The following day, Freshman
A'nan Bridgett finished second in the long jump with a result of 7.47m (24' 6.25"). It marked the Princeton Junction, New Jersey, native's second Big Ten medal after earning bronze in the long jump at the indoor championships in February.

Mirabelli collected All-Big Ten First Team honors, while Bridgett was named All-Big Ten Second Team.
PODIUM FINISHES
Sophomore
Malachi Davis finished fifth in the triple jump, posting an outdoor personal-best mark of 15.58m (51' 1.5").

Classmate
Taj Burgess finished sixth in the 400m finals, clocking a time of 46.49.

The 4x100m relay team of Bridgett,
Izaiah Brown, Burgess and
Sterling Pierce registered a time of 40.41 to finish sixth in the race.

The 4x400m relay team of
Christopher Jenkins, Pierce,
Semaj Willis, and Burgess clocked a time of 3:10.25, finishing eighth and earning a spot on the podium.

Redshirt-sophomore
Jason Campbell registered a PR of 52.98 (173' 10") to finish seventh in the event.

In the javelin, redshirt-junior
Greg Harnett finished fifth with a personal-best throw of 65.30m (214' 3") followed by classmate
Michael Thomas in seventh with his own PR of 61.87m (203').Â

Cole Pschunder represented Rutgers in the 5,000m with a time of 15:20.82.

In the discus, senior
John Mooers posted a throw of 50.47 (165' 7") to round out the field events for RU at the championships.
