PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse head coach Brian Brecht was tabbed to serve as the head coach of the Division I/II South Team for the upcoming USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game. The game is slated for Friday, May 24 at Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and Lax Sports Network will stream both contests.

Brecht recently completed his eighth season as the Rutgers head coach, having won 58 games. In 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach, he has won 123 games with a 52.8% winning percentage. He has led the Scarlet Knights to 37 wins over the past four seasons, the most wins over a four-year span in program history.
 
With Brecht at the helm, the program has won 10 Big Ten games since joining the league and has defeated 13 ranked foes over the last five seasons, including a 14-6 win this season at No. 4 Ohio State. Brecht was named the 2016 Big Ten Coach of the Year, the fourth conference Coach of the Year accolade in his career. While at Rutgers, nine of Brecht's players have garnered All-America recognition, while 13 have joined Major League Lacrosse teams following graduation.

The USILA will reveal its full rosters this week. Rutgers previously has had 122 players all-time participate in the North/South Game. The Scarlet Knights have been represented in 63 of the 77 lifetime games.
 
The USILA/Nike North-South games provide an opportunity for the senior student-athletes to finish their collegiate career and carry on the tradition. This tradition started in 1940 and has been played every year with the exception of 1944 and 1945. These games will bring together over 120 of the finest senior men's lacrosse players in the country.
