JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Freshman
Reanda Richards is moving on to the NCAA East Regional 400m hurdle quarterfinals and will vie for place at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.
The Roseland, New Jersey native will race in the regional quarterfinals on Friday at 7 p.m. with the top 12 from the field qualifying for NCAAs being held June 5-8 in Austin, Texas.
The Big Ten champion in the event, Richards took second in her heat and fifth overall in the opening round with a time of 58.28.
Richards entered the competition ninth nationally with her season-best time of 57.21 from the Florida Relays.
Also on Thursday at the regional, Rutgers had entries in the 800m, high jump and javelin.
Senior
Jenna Sobieski wrapped up her career with her first ever NCAA Regional appearance and clocked in at 2:07.21 in the 800m.
Redshirt senior
Rhonda Rogombe, in her third-consecutive regional, and sophomore Big Ten runner-up
Courteney Campbell both closed out their outdoor seasons reaching a height of 1.70m (5' 7") in the high jump.
Sophomore
Kathryn Campbell, who placed sixth at the Big Ten Championship in the javelin, ended her season with a throw of 40.11m (131' 7").
