PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 21/13 Rutgers women's soccer travels to Delaware for its final nonconference matchup of the season on Sunday, Sept. 15. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. in Newark, Delaware.
RUTGERS QUICK KICKS
- Rutgers (5-0-1, 0-0-0 Big Ten) wrapped up a five-game homestand with a 4-1 win over Hofstra on Thursday, sealing a perfect 5-0 record in nonconference home matches for the year.
- Sophomore defender Shea Holland scored the game winner against the Pride, igniting a burst of three RU goals in a two-minute span to secure the victory.
- The Scarlet Knights then matched up with the Princeton Tigers for their first road match of the year, playing to a 0-0, double-overtime drawer. RU became the first team of 2019 to shutout the Tigers.
- RU moved up to No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, while also ranking No. 13 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Poll and No. 11 by Soccer America.
- Junior forward Amirah Ali, a 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Candidate, leads RU with 10 points, including four goals and two assists.
- Classmate and forward Nneka Moneme follows with four goals and an assist.
- In net, sophomore goalkeeper Meagan McClelland maintains a 0.33 GAA, including four shutouts. McClelland has stopped 16 of 18 shots on goal this year.
SCOUTING DELAWARE
- Delaware (4-2, 0-0 CAA) split its matches last week with a 1-0 loss at Villanova on Thursday and a 1-0 win over Liberty on Sunday.
- Jessica Kennett leads the team with seven points, including two goals and three assists.
- Alexis Montgomery has registered a team-high three goals.
- In net, Kamryn Stabelin has seen the most time, allowing three goals and saving 19 shots in six games.
- The Scarlet Knights leads the series with the Blue Hens, 4-1. The teams met last year, when RU took a 3-0 win at home.
