Men's Soccer Back in Philly To Take On Penn

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's soccer team travels back to Philadelphia on Tuesday night to meet the Penn Quakers at 7 p.m.

- The Rutgers men's soccer team returned home to Yurcak Field last week where they picked up a pair of victories and extended their win-streak to five straight.
- The Scarlet Knights are off to their best start since 1990 and have opened a season with five consecutive victories for the eighth time since the program began in 1938.
- RU is one of 12 schools among the 206 Division I teams that sponsor the sport without a loss or tie this season.
- Rutgers was triumphant it its 2019 Yurcak Field debut last Tuesday with a 3-2 victory over Binghamton and followed with a 1-0 win versus Manhattan on Saturday night.
- Just prior to kickoff against the Bearcats last Tuesday, the United Soccer Coaches Poll was released with Rutgers receiving votes and appeared in the poll for the first time since opening the 2016 season at No. 25.
- The Scarlet Knights' five-game win streak is the longest since winning seven-straight in 2015.
- All five goals of Tuesday's match with Binghamton were scored in the first half with sophomore Pablo Ávila putting away the game-winner with one second remaining in the first half.
- On Sunday, freshman Jackson Temple collected his third goal of the 2019 campaign netting the game-winning in the 88th minute off a pass from sophomore Valentino Ambrosio. The same duo combined for the game-winner at Drexel two weeks ago.
- Freshman goalkeeper Oren Asher picked up a career-high seven saves versus the Bearcats. Meanwhile, against the Jaspers, junior James Teal came off the bench for the clean sheet.

- The Quakers welcome the Scarlet Knights with a 2-1 overall record coming off a 1-0 setback at No. 19 St. John's on Friday night with the Red Storm getting onto the scoreboard in the 80th minute.
- Penn opened up the season with a 2-0 victory at Monmouth and a 1-0 win at home over Marist.
- Junior midfielder Joey Bhangdia leads Penn with a pair of goals, including the game-winner versus Marist. Freshman midfielder Kai Lammers, meanwhile, registered the game-winner in his collegiate debut at Monmouth.
- In goal, freshman Dane Jacomen opened his collegiate career with 240 minutes of scoreless action and currently has six saves and a .857 save percentage.
