Scarlet Knights look to move to 4-0 under first-year head coach Melissa Lehman
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse (3-0) hits the road to face Marist (0-3) on Saturday in Poughkeepsie, New York. The 1 p.m. matchup takes place at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field and will stream live via Red Fox Network.
What to Know
• The Scarlet Knights secured their best start to a season since 2010 with their 13-11 win over Delaware last Saturday at SHI Stadium. Rookie Cassidy Spilis and junior Taralyn Naslonski each netted four goals in the victory, as Naslonski became the 25th player in program history to join the 100 point career club (101: 71 G, 30 A).
• The win moved RU to 3-0 under head coach Melissa Lehman, marking the best start for a first-year head coach at Rutgers in program history. Rutgers is 3-0 for the first since the 2010 season, when the Scarlet Knights began that campaign with five consecutive wins, including triumphs over two ranked foes (No. 7 Princeton, No. 20 Cornell).
• For the first time in program history, Rutgers swept the Big Ten Conference's weekly awards, as Spilis (Offensive & Rookie) and freshman goalkeeper Alonna Gliksman (Defensive) were recognized by the league office. It was just the ninth time a school has swept the conference's weekly awards since the Big Ten began sponsoring women's lacrosse in 2015.
• Spilis registered back-to-back four-goal outings in Rutgers' wins over Temple and Delaware last week, combining for 10 draw controls, eight goals and three ground balls during that span.
• Gliksman owns a 3-0 mark in cage for the Scarlet Knights to begin her collegiate career, which includes back-to-back victories over the Owls and Blue Hens. The Branchburg, New Jersey, native produced a career-high 13 saves in RU's 13-11 win against Delaware and also had 12 stops against Temple last Wednesday.
