
Men's Lacrosse Has Record 11 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse set a program record as 11 student-athletes were named Distinguished Scholars by the Big Ten. The mark was the most of any Big Ten men's lacrosse team.
The 11 student-athletes to earn the accolade were: Garrett Bullett, Adam Charalambides, Eric Civetti, Zackary Franckowiak, Brodie Gillespie, Ben Pounds, Robert Marron, Kieran Mullins, Bobby Russo, Mark Schachte and Jack Thompson.
Established in 2008 to supplement the Academic All-Big Ten program, Distinguished Scholars must have earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in the previous academic year, must have been enrolled full time for the entire previous academic year (two semesters or three quarters) and earned a minimum GPA of 3.70 or better during the previous academic year.
In addition to these 11 Distinguished Scholars, RU had two Scholar All-Americans in Adam Charalambides and Kieran Mullins. RU also set a program record with 26 student-athletes named Academic All-Big Ten. The team had 16 student-athletes named to the Dean's List. The team's cumulative spring GPA was 3.47 and the team's cumulative GPA to this point is 3.3.
